Plasma Cleaning

Natural.  Safe.  Reliable.  Practical.

IonField Systems products employ a patented process that converts room air into a room temperature energized gas (plasma) that oxidizes organics and biomolecules on contact. 

Unlike traditional solvent-based tip and plate washing methods, plasma cleaning does not simply dilute contaminants, but removes them at a molecular level, allowing laboratories to reuse pipette tips and plates.

How we Generate Plasma

  • All IonField products include the PlasmaCharger.
  • The PlasmaCharger provides precisely controlled high voltage, high frequency, low amperage power to two ceramic covered electrodes producing micro-discharges. 
  • These micro-discharges create plasma as air flows through the gap. 
  • Byproducts of plasma are hydroxide, ozone and multiple activated nitrogen species.

Validation Studies

  • The X axis shows concentration of prepared standards.

  • The Blue line is the Cycle Threshold (CT) of the standards.

  • The Pink line is the CT of rinse fluid from the tips used for the Standards (Blue).

  • The Yellow line is the CT of the tips washed after the Blue Line is rinsed and fresh fluid aspirated and dispensed.

  • The Purple and Teal lines are tips after the Blue Line and either cleaned with PureTIP Plasma or rinsed then cleaned with PureTIP Plasma.
