NucleoSpin Blood Quick Pure - Procedure

NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure kits are designed for ultra-fast small-scale purification of genomic DNA from whole blood, serum, plasma and body fluids (amniotic fluid, liquor etc.). Animal or human blood samples, fresh or frozen material, may be processed conveniently.
The NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure column features a new specially treated silica membrane which allows to speed up the procedure by a combined washing/drying step:
The number of washing and drying steps is reduced from 3 to only 1! Therefore, the hands-on time is less than 10 min. With an elution volume of 25–50 μL, the kit allows isolation of 4–6 μg (typical yield) of pure genomic DNA from 200 μL whole blood with an A260/A280 ratio between 1.60 and 1.90 and a typical concentration of 80 to 120 ng per μL.
The obtained DNA can be used directly for PCR, Southern blotting, or any kind of enzymatic reactions. The NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure method is based on silica-membrane technology (see NucleoSpin Blood).

DNA purification from human blood (200 μL) with NucleoSpin Blood and NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure

Elution volumes as indicated, 5 % of each eluate were used for agarose gel electrophoresis.

1, 5, 9: marker
2–4: purification with NucleoSpin Blood
6–8: purification with NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure
With NucleoSpin Blood QuickPure lower elution volumes
can be used without a loss of yield.
